<p>If you are like me and have been so busy that the new Facebook Timeline has just passed you by then you might find this quick video tutorial helpful.</p>
<p>The image size that I used was 1200px by 440 pixels</p>
<p>Here are a few tips to help you maximise your new found social media toy!</p>
<ul>
<li>Use your image real estate wisely. Why not create 5-6 different marketing images that you can rotate strategically to market your business, your events, your products and services and your brand</li>
<li>Note that this photo is public so be smart and don&#8217;t but your last Christmas party hilarious photos up there unless you want your clients or prospective clients to see them [or maybe grandma who maybe hanging out on facebook too]</li>
<li>Use high res quality photos otherwise they tend to pixelate</li>
<li>Use photos the represent your brand and your personality &#8211; people want to get to know you through your photos</li>
<li>Experiment and see which ones get the most response</li>
</ul>

Outreach is key to having a blog that actually <strong>works for your business</strong>, yet it&#8217;s the one element many professionals ignore. And it&#8217;s contrary to most competitive thinking because <strong>it involves spending time away from your blog.</strong>Done correctly, however, <strong>reaching out to other bloggers in your field will actually create more business opportunities, increase traffic to your own blog, and enhance your business brand more than any other tactic you could employ.</strong></p>
<p>Here&#8217;s how&#8230;</p>
<p>In taking this one step, <strong>you will be setting yourself apart from the majority of business professionals </strong>who skip implementing this important element in their blogging plan.Whatdo I mean by blog outreach? I&#8217;m talking about <strong>strategically participating</strong>in the blogosphere with the goal of boosting your visibility, driving traffic to your blog and enhancing your credibility.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not just about spreading your own message, although that&#8217;s important. Outreach is about <strong>building community and personal relationships</strong>among your peers, your colleagues who are also writing blogs, and the people in the blogosphere who are reading blogs in your industry. And yes, some of those people may be considered competitors.Don&#8217;t be afraid of your competitors; you can learn from them and connecting with them may present new opportunities for your business.</p>
<p><strong>Find Blogs in Your Niche</strong></p>
<p>Where do you start? First, you need to find a few blogs in your industry that you enjoy and will consistently read. Choose blogs that will give you content ideas along with the relationships you&#8217;re seeking. Blogs can be found in practically every professional and business niche, and a quick visit to a few websites can help you find them.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Technoratiis</span> the web&#8217;s largest <strong>blog search directory</strong>and is a good place to start. Be warned, this site can be overwhelming the first time you visit. You can search for blogs or blog posts by keywords in your field. I recommend you set up an accountand make sure your own blog is listed so it can be found by others.</p>
<p>Another site is Google Blogsearch. Like any Google search engine, it&#8217;s going to return a list of links based on your keywords, only this time the links will be sites for blogs and specific blog posts.<strong>Use Subject-specific Directories</strong></p>
<p><strong>Directories</strong>My current favoritefor finding the best of the best in subject-specific blogs is Guy Kawasaki&#8217;s Alltop.com. It&#8217;s a curatedsite, which means blogs must be approved in order to be included. You can create your own collection of blogs to watch and read. Here&#8217;s an example of my Alltoplist of business blogs.</p>
<p><strong>TIP: Make sure you submit your blog for inclusion on Alltop.com!</strong><strong></strong></p>
<p>There are <strong>more than 200 blog directories</strong>, some of which are subject-specific and others are general. Blog directories come and go, and each has its own list of criteria for which blogs it includes. You want more blog directories? A comprehensive list of blog directories is posted here.</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Engage in Smart Commenting, Building Relationships</strong></p>
<p>In all likelihood, you will find many blogs in your niche that have similar audiences. What do you do when you find one of these good blogs?<strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>Start engaging!</strong></p>
<p>Read and comment on posts that interest you. Smart bloggers allow comments, although sometimes they are moderated to keep out the spammers. <strong>Always include your name, blog URL, your email address and your thoughtful, useful comment.</strong></p>
<p>The guidelines for commenting are simple: <strong>use common sense and respect</strong>. There are no rules, but being courteous will help you establish positive relationships within the blogosphere. When you comment on a blog, follow the same etiquette that you&#8217;d follow in conversation at a cocktail party.</p>
<p>In other words, you&#8217;re not going to approach somebody at a cocktail party and say, &#8220;Hi, my name is Joe and you should buy my widget.&#8221; You would be a little more subtle. Listen and add to the conversation in a meaningful way. Talk with and get to know the other person first. <strong>Start establishing a relationship.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Share Expertise, Not Marketing Offers</strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Using blogs to promote your business requires you to act like a professional when commenting. And etiquette dictates that you don&#8217;t promote your business on another person&#8217;s blog. Instead, <strong>share your expertise.</strong></p>
<p>You can <strong>demonstrate your expertise </strong>in many ways. Add something the author may have overlooked. Add historical context or suggest a book in which the ideas are discussed. Add your perspective, experience and opinion.<strong></strong></p>
<p>Be polite and <strong>add something new to the conversation</strong>. Writing &#8220;Nice post, I agree&#8221; is not adding to the conversation.</p>
<p>If you think this all sounds very basic, please just bear with me. Every business owner has a different level of familiarity with the online world, particularly the world of blogging. I see these mistakes every day in comments on my blog as well as on those I read.</p>
<p>So what does this all mean?</p>
<p>Resulting Visibility = Opportunity</p>
<p>By engaging with other bloggers (in other words, your colleagues), you are making yourself known (visible) and laying the groundwork for creating opportunities to partner with them.</p>
<p>Often you need to actively reach out and build relationships with the people you want to work with. Start slowly and see how your relationship unfolds. When you find a good match, you&#8217;ll know.</p>
<p>Keep in mind that <strong>opportunities can show up in many forms</strong>: new leads, new clients, more traffic, and media attention. A pithy comment on a colleague&#8217;s blog may attract the attention of a journalist doing research on the subject.</p>
<p><strong>Blog outreach is an important part of effective business blogging</strong>. The more you&#8217;re connecting outward, the more you&#8217;re going to be drawing traffic and opportunities inward. It doesn&#8217;t require a lot of your time… 20 minutes a couple of times a week to read and comment on relevant blogs can pay off big in the long run.</p>
<p><strong>Action Challenge:</strong>Since I know from experience with my clients that most business bloggers don&#8217;t comment very much on other blogs, I challenge you to find three blogs in your industry that are publishing top-notch content and subscribe to get their blog updates. <strong>Read and comment on the blogs two to three times a week</strong>for the next month. <h2>So what is it?</h2>
<p>Well if you are a iphone geek [which I am not] then you are going to love this. When I showed it to Steve Brossman he got so excited because so many of our clients use iphones and we had no idea how easy it was to use it for your video marketing.</p>
<p>Plus, now that the Zi8 and Z10 are no longer in production we were looking for alternatives for you to use that was inexpensive for your video marketing and I think this may just be perfect.</p>
<p>Obviously there is a few extra tools that you need to be able to get good sound quality and stable videos but my friend Jules has covered all this in his brand new course.</p>
<h1>So why do I think it is so awesome?</h1>
<ul>
<li>The best videos and video opportunities are always, always when you do not have your camera with you eg my recent opportunity to video Frank Kern in San Jose. My Z10 was not working so what did we do? &#8211; We filmed the complete video on Lisa Tremolada&#8217;s iphone.  Imagine missing that opportunity!</li>
<li>There are now tools that allow you to put your camera on a stand or add a mic for quality sound [just as good as the zi8 and z10]</li>
<li>The latest iphone has 1080HD quality &#8211; as good as an expensive camera</li>
<li>You can now upload and edit your videos on the fly using YouTube enhancement and editing tools [Jules covers all this in the course]</li>
<li>It is easy to use and Steve found all these features that he did not even know existed on his phone [once you do the course you will never look at your iphone the same way again]</li>
<li><strong>Plus</strong> the resource list &#8211; we could  not believe how many add on toys there are for seriously using your iphone as a video camera for your business. Imagine being at an event and capturing that priceless testimonial or a real estate agent getting some magic pictures and videos to create an animoto for the client when they have secured the contract for [wow factor], or you are a speaker and you just want some &#8216;show reel&#8217; moments for your bio but don&#8217;t have a cameraman there to capture the moment but you do have your iphone</li>
</ul>
<p>There is  no limit to how you are going to use your iphone for your video marketing in 2012. Steve is so excited that he is giving me his old iphone and upgrading to the latest iphone so that he can have all the features.</p>
<p><strong>Note</strong> this is for iphone 4 users and above for the video features in this course. I also believe a lot of what is being taught and the apps that Jules mentions can also be used on the ipad2 video.</p>
<p>So I guess you are saying what is it going to cost? Well when I spoke to Jules he said he wanted to get lots of people using their iphone for video marketing so he has put his course out at a <strong>&#8216;Crazy</strong>&#8216; I mean <strong>&#8216;Crazy price of only $47.</strong></p>
<p>You saw the video &#8211; the resource page alone is worth more than the $47. I did not even know this stuff existed for iphones. It would have taken 2-3 hours to search for this stuff so $47 is a no brainer.</p>
<p>Anyway &#8211; I know you are all going on holidays over Christmas. And some of you may be getting a new phone in your Santa Sack. So if you are planning on doing some videoing or want to be able to capture those magic moments on the fly then you are going to love iPhone Video Hero course.</p>

<p><strong>Fiona how has writing these books personally impacted your own success as I know you are not only a successful author but also a successful investor and property developer? Have you learnt a lot along the way?</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong>I remember reading once that to be successful you need to surround yourself with successful people, or people who have achieved what you‘re trying to achieve. So in creating the Millionaire series I found I was talking to and meeting with the most amazing people everyday. Many of these people have become friends and part of my everyday life and I have found that I am now surrounded with amazingly successful and likeminded people. Writing the millionaire series has definitely taken my own business and investing to the next level as I am basically studying mindset and personal development full time -how could it not! My belief in what is possible has grown exponentially.</p>
<p><strong>If someone was wanting to create their own book, what advice would you give them for getting started?</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong>Believe you can do it and take action. It only has to be one step at a time. There is a great saying that says, ‗a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step‘, so you need to take that step and let it unfold from there. But it‘s also really important to keep the vision of what you want to achieve in your mind. Get a mock of the book cover created and stick it to your vision board next to the deadline to finish your book! Having a deadline for each of my books has been crucial. So set a deadline and stick to it!</p>
<p><strong>Fiona we met on a Millionaire Cruise last year and instantly became the best of friends, which is where you invited me to be a part of the fantastic Ms Millionaire edition. From your initial idea to now, how much has the original idea changed and what exciting books can we expect in the near future?</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong>Creating the millionaire series has been an incredible journey and it keeps getting better! What started out as one book, Mr Millionaire, has now become a six book series. So the series now includes Mr Millionaire, Ms Millionaire, Property Millionaire, Franchise Millionaire, Teenage Millionaire and Millionaire Mentors. In 2010, we have released Mr Millionaire, Ms Millionaire and Property Millionaire! I am currently working on multiple business ideas based on the book series, which is very exciting.</p>
<p><strong>How are you planning marketing the Ms Millionaire book and will you be using any social media in your marketing plan?</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong>Absolutely! Social media is a very important part of marketing. We use Twitter and Facebook to let people know about the books and stay in touch with our readers and contributors. You definitely can‘t market anything nowadays without the use of social media. We‘re so fortunate to have Pam as part of the Ms Millionaire book. Pam‘s advice, support and expertise in social media has been phenomenal.</p>

<p>2.CREATE THE WOW FACTOR IN THE ROOM &#8211; Incorporate banners, plants, balloons to decorate the room and create the atmosphere. WHY? You only have once chance at a first Impression so make sure that when clients walk into the room it has a WOW factor</p>
<p>3. MANAGE THE EVENT THROUGH GOOD LEADERS – Before the Event make up a list of tasks, clearly outlining what has to be done and who will manage it. WHY? An event is much easier to manage if you have good leaders in place to manage different tasks. This way you only have to</p>

<p>5. CONFIRM, CONFIRM, CONFIRM &#8211; Ensure that people are confirmed for the Event via several different methods in the leadup to the Event. When people are reminded about the Event, it helps create an excitement and expectation about the Event. The last thing you want is for people to not attend, because they got busy and forgot.
